When we arrived at the hotel in the cab, we both looked at each other with wide eyes and mouths open. “Are we really allowed to stay here?” we thought. The hotel was gorgeous and fancy. Much nicer than any place I have ever stayed. We arrived pretty early in the morning and while we waited for our room to be ready, we spent some time lounging by the pool. We loved the hotel but there was a hiccup. When we arrived they told us we had half board. I told him I didn’t think that was right, so he went up and asked again to make sure. She told us, “Yes, you have half board with your room.” The front desk woman kindly told us which restaurant we could eat at and it was covered for breakfast and lunch. This morning when we went to check out, we were charged almost $600 for these meal we were told were covered. Needless to say Joe and I screamed and ended up paying half of what they wanted us to pay and almost missed our flight. Word to the wise – be at the Marrakech airport a full two hours before your flight if you’re flying Ryan Air. We were there an hour and forty five minutes ahead of time and when we got there they told us, “You’re too late. It closes two hours before the flight.” Regardless of the fact the plane ticket says, “Baggage claim closes 40 minutes before the flight.” We made the flight, along with my luggage but when have you ever heard of a flight taking off FORTY minutes early? Other than the these hiccups, we had a good time. More pictures to follow.
