Leanbean in Germany

Military wife trying to figure out this military life

Wine Fest September 11, 2009

This last weekend we drove an hour away to BernKastel Kues for wine fest 2009.  There was food, rides, bands and lots of wine followed by fireworks.  The town itself was pretty small and half of the people there were American.

The wines available at the festival were mostly Rieslings.  We had a couple of bottles and decided to try a red wine, which we would definitely not recommend.  The food was the usual food you see at festivals – potato pancakes, crepes, sausage, etc.  After the fireworks we headed home. It wasn’t until five minutes into our drive I realized Joe hadn’t eaten anything.  He opened the window on the Autobahn with me going 100 mph and his puke flew back into the car.  Needless to say, we won’t be going to a wine fest again on an empty stomach.
